Windows clipboard can only handle one clip, a line of text or a picture, through it. Usually, that is an inconvenience. As soon as you clip another item, the earlier item is removed. Spartan Lite Multi Clipboard, as the product is now known, is an enhanced version of the clipboard for Windows. It is capable of saving the 25 most recently copied clips. These are arranged in a simple, spreadsheet-style grid. It can also store many permanent clips, including text, images, Web and e-mail addresses, and anything else you can copy and paste from the clipboard. It has additional features in addition to the plain vanilla paste operation. It can send an email. It can help you initiate running programs, filling forms, bookmarking Web sites, and dialing telephone numbers. The freeware or the lite version only stores 500 permanent clips. The regular version stores 10,000 clips on the other hand.

There is a quick start guide as well as full online help available for the tool. The interface is a series of gridded rows and color-coded cells. The first 25 cells are yellow for temporary clips. The permanent clips are in white areas. These can go into more than one sheet. This view can be quickly reconfigured into different views. There is a view that shows hot keys and macro clips explicitly. Clips can be dragged and arranged into the gridded sheet. Hovering over a mouse over a grid will display the cell contents in a preview window. Hovering the cursor over many of the program`s elements and options provides detailed explanations. That is quite a nice feature.

Other 101 features include, bulk pasting, a form filling mode, keyboard only operation, on top mode and editors for both text and graphic clips.
